Katie Denton joined ID Collaborative in the spring of 2014 as an Interior Designer. Prior to entering the field of design, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Furman University in June 2006, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Sociology.
Following a brief period of teaching special education in Philadelphia, Katie returned to school to pursue her growing interest in interior design. In May 2011, she graduated from Drexel University with a Master’s in Interior Architecture and Design.
Having grown up in the South, Katie returned to North Carolina in 2011, where she began working with a local interior design firm focusing primarily on large corporate facility planning and design. Her experience in the corporate design world has equipped her with strong programming, space planning, and documentation skills, as well as a passion for providing clients with a space that enhances their quality of life in the workplace.
Interested in broadening her design experience, Katie joined the IDC team in 2014. She enjoys working on a wide variety of design projects including senior living, healthcare, and corporate work. She has been a LEED accredited professional since 2008 and is currently working towards her NCIDQ certification.
Outside of the design world, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, running, cooking, and volunteering in her local community.
