Virtually untouched for 15 years, Glenaire’s Creekside Bistro was ready for a new look. While the beautiful views made the bistro popular among residents, the tired furnishings were beginning to detract from the overall experience. The mismatched walls, dark brown vinyl upholstery, and enormous wall mural made the space feel dark and incohesive.
Our mission for this project was to take all of the wonderful existing elements of the bistro, and emphasize them. We framed the view with trim and crisp white paint. We moved the piano to its own nook, creating an intimate lounge area with mirrors to reflect the outside. The fabrics bring life to the existing carpet, and offer texture and color. We incorporated two banquettes into the layout of the space, breaking down the scale of the long dining room. The finished product is a light filled space that reflects the vibrancy of the residents who use it.
