Schematic Design Phase

During the schematic design (SD) phase, ID Collaborative meets with the owner to determine project goals, requirements and aesthetics. During schematic design, IDC will develop study/sketch drawings, or other media to better describe and illustrate the concepts of the design, to include spatial relationships, scale, and the overall aesthetic for owner review. This Schematic phase produces a final schematic design, for the owner to review and approve, prior to proceeding with any additional work on the project. With Schematic design approval, IDC then moves forward to the design development phase.

Schematic design often produces a site plan, floor plan(s), sections, an elevation, and other illustrative materials; computer images, renderings, or models. IDC drawings typically include basic dimensions, and a materials cost is estimated.
